Topics I learn in my soical studies class are very interesting like the French and Indian War, and also the Civil War. We learned that the Civil War started because the Confederate states fired on Fort Sumter. During the first couple years of the Civil War was a miserable time. I say this because during this time young men where joining the war for the union and would end up fighting one of his family members. This made it very hard for the family. After a couple of years technologhy had improved in the war. For example the rifles were given scopes to advance accuracy and they made a steam proplled warship called an ironclad. Ironclads were protected with either with a thick sheet of iron or steel and cannon balls bounced harmlessly off of it.
